KitNipBox July Review

KitNipBox is a fairly new monthly box subscription for cats. Their first box was May of this year. I unfortunately was forced to put my 18 year old diabetic cat to sleep on May 16 due to finding out her liver was failing 10 days prior. She would have loved a monthly box like this back in her good old days. Just one week before her diagnosis I found her sitting in an empty Citrus Lane box. My husband and I took my cat's death hard, me especially. I have had her since I was seven years old. We knew that we would have to adopt another cat as soon as possible, not to replace her as that is not remotely a possibility but to help heal our brokenness and bring some joy into our lives. We brought Louie home from a near by rescue on May 28. I immediately signed him up for KitNipBox after reading reviews and checking out all of the different pet box subs websites.  I thought I would sign him up for MeowBox at first but their monthly cost is rather high at close to $30. KitNipBox offers a few different priced subs.  That was the deal maker.

Different sized boxes for different prices:
1.

2.

3.

What's included in each box:

I choose to get option #2. Not too expensive and it ensures my kitty will be spoiled. If I had more than one cat I think I'd consider option #3 but you really do get a packed box with the $19 subscription choice.

They do not charge your credit card until they ship your box which is always the 1st of the month. This is the first box sub I have heard of doing that
 Very cool and makes sense!

What Louie received:

"Business Catual Bowtie"
9% of the profits from the bowties go to no-kill animal welfare organizations in Portland OR. They are made from recycled materials such as old flannel shirts and sheets.

"Multi-Colored Fur Weasel Fun Toy For Cats"

"Laser Cat Toy"
Comes with batteries, a keychain, and 4 interchangeable images.

"Pet Greens Semi-Moist Treats"

"Beadle Bop & Company Taco Catnip Toys"
A Taco Catnip toy from an artist/student living in Wisconsin. She makes each toy by hand and adds fresh catnip.

"Patriotic Cat Pin"
This was an extra from the KitNipBox team. I put magnet on the back side and now it's hanging on my fridge.

"Cat Whiskers"
Homemade with thin rolled cardboard whiskers and a piece of felt in the muddle, perfect for carrying around.

My... er..Louie's verdict:
Such a cute and well put together box. Loved the 4th of July themed tissue paper and patriotic bow tie. PS I can only get pictures of him in it while he is sleeping.  He hates bow ties and tries eating them.
He immediately adored the weasel toy. Ripped it in half within minutes and was ecstatic over turning one toy into two.
Loved the tacos. So cute and the catnip was very fresh.
Cat whiskers and treats were a hit as well.
Laser toy is pretty be dazzling with its 4 interchangeable heads.

Overall this is such a great company and they have quickly become one of my favorites to receive.

KitNipBox June Review

What Louie received:

"Ms Bekkah’s Corner Crochet Mouse Toy"
A handmade crochet mouse toy from an artisan in Virginia, who donates a portion of her creations to animal welfare organizations on a monthly basis and uses recycled yarn.

Handmade organic cat nip pillow toys from an artisan in Maine.
Each pillow is filled with a soft stuffing and more than a tablespoon of USDA certified organic dried catnip.

Crinkle ball and toy mouse

"Benny Bullys Cat Treats – Liver"
One ingredient only, liver.

"Greenie’s Dental Cleaning Treats"

"Daily Best"
1 Vitamin supplement

"Business Catual Bowtie"
9% of the profits from the bowties go to no-kill animal welfare organizations in Portland OR. They are made from recycled materials such as old flannel shirts and sheets.

"Cat Charmer Toy"
Designed for excellent aerobic exercise and hours of fun!

My... er..Louie's verdict:

He loved the cat Charmer toy the most. It is super safe for cats the way it is designed. I always worry about dangly things being eaten and wrapping around the cat's intestines and killing the cat. Not really possible with this toy.
He loves the toy mouse,  catnip pillow, crunchy ball and yarn mouse. I think it's lovely that KitNipBox partners up with artists and charities in hopes of giving back to rescues and helping out cats in the long run. Such a wonderful thing and I respect them for that.
The treats were so so for Mr. Louie. He is still so young though, he is not quite used to treats yet. I will try them again on him later.

Overall this is such a great company and they have quickly become one of my favorites to receive.

Citrus Lane Mystery Box 0-12 Months

Every month or so Citrus Lane will have various Mystery Boxes for sale. They are sold out very quickly so you have to really be on the look out for them. Normally they will have 1 for every age group or gender although they have done themed boxes too in the past. They are $30 plus $5 shipping and they guarantee you to receive $60 worth of items. I happened to have a 20% off coupon which made my Mystery Box $28 total. They said it was gender neutral age 0-12 months and only showed you one item you would for sure get in the box which was the Plantoys wooden car.

We received:
  1. Munchkin trainer cup 2 pack- Value: $7.49
  2. I'll see you in the morning board book- Value: $7.00
  3. Diaper bag buddy- Value: $5.00
  4. Boon pulp silicone teething feeder- Value: $8.27
  5. Ah goo baby bib- Value: $8.15
  6. Plantoys wooden baby car- Value: $8.00
  7. Haba rira clutching toy- Value: $9.49
Overall value was just short of $54.

I'm not a total penny counter, I don't care that it wasn't exactly $60 worth of stuff. I still received more than what I spent. The bib and pulp feeder were repeats but that's not Citrus Lanes fault. I was planning on buying Logan another pulp feeder anyway and bibs are always usable. The clutching toy he loves. Fits perfectly in his little hand. The toy car is really nice too. The book is so perfect for bedtime and beautiful pictures.  The trainer cups will be used although the Munchkin brand isn't super new to me as they do sell it at Target and CL does pride themselves in finding us new brands and products. Oh well, still usable. The diaper buddy I have been wanting for awhile now.  It even includes a one time use disposable thermometer.

Overall it wasn't a super exciting box but it was still a usable and nice box. I'll order Logan another Mystery Box some time!

Birchbox May Review

This is a review for the original Birchbox for women.  My husband's Birchbox Man was always so nice and their customer service was stellar so I was like for $10/month I may as well give it a shot. Plus with their awesome points system with the 2 of our boxes combined into one acvount, we will really rack up the points. Remember for each 100 points you get $100 to spend in their store and every referral gets you 50 points and every review you leave on one of their products gets you 10 points. Plus 1 point for every $1 you spend in their shop. It adds up quick!

Here are some general facts I cropped from their website:

This month's pictures and item descriptions:

Overall I wasn't THAT impressed over the items but with it only costing $10 I guess it wasn't bad. Will be fun to try everything out. The lotion smells okay, shampoo and conditioner smell like any other. Eyeliner is a gorgeous liquid silver and I can't wait to try it. The 2 vitamins were absolutely disgusting. Pure gelatin with an awful aftertaste. Plus who wants vitamins? Lol but I will give birchbox another shot. I did love that eyeliner and I can tell they put thought into the selection.

Interior of the box was pretty styling.

Bonjour Jolie May Review

This is a review for a monthly box subscription called Bonjour Jolie.
For $16 + $5 shipping if you live in the United States you will receive a package of goodies right in time for that terrible time of the month.

Bonjour Jolie allows you to pick 25 feminine hygiene items each month and they include all sorts of extra pampering gifts. They pretty much have every brand of pad, panty liner,  tampon etc you can think of and if not you can request it.

You do not have to keep your selection to a specific item. If you want 25 tampons go for it, but you can get a few pads, a few liners, whatever as long as it adds up to 25 items.

The way I figure, you spend $8 or so each month on a box of tampons. For $13 more you get them delivered directly and in discreetly to your door as well as teas, body scrubs, chocolates, special hand picked gifts etc. Just what you need to start off a dreadful week.
This company is made up of 5 individuals.  Period. They put so much thought and heart into their boxes. Usually they stick with themes depending on the month or holiday.
I think Bonjour Jolie is an absolutely wonderful thing and $21 to put a smile on my face and make that week a little better is worth it. Plus no more buying tampons at the grocery store.
For the month of May they had a Celebrate Dreams theme. This month was their one year anniversary.

 Here's pictures :)

I received a bracelet, philosophy body bar, facial bar, shower gel, and body lotion, grandma's chocolate chip cookies, York peppermint patties, tootsie roll pop, 5 packets of herbal fruit tea, 2 advil packets, 2 feminine hygiene wipes and my 25 preselected tampons.

This was too big for my wrist but fit great as an anklet. Very chic.

Love it, thanks ladies!

I can't believe how well out together these boxed are. They put so much thought into them and I just love it! So impressed.
