Birchbox Man May Review

This is a review for Birchbox Man. For $20 a month Birchbox Man will send you a package containing 1 full size “lifestyle” item and a few little sample items. They have you initially fill out a detailed profile expressing your likes and dislikes as well as your age and stuff to help them determine the types of products to include in your box. Each month the box will have a different theme. This month’s theme was Good Form, ie good design/thoughtful decisions and putting that into your daily routine.

Birchbox Man also just added a special VIP program for those who have racked up enough points or have been a member got a year and to celebrate that, everyone got an extra item this month which happened to be a deck of cards.

Mark received a $38 white v neck tshirt, a deck of cards, a sample of men's cologne, a sample of facial scrub, a sample of breath freshening crystals and a sample of facial oil. Hopefully Mark likes the shirt, he's not big into the idea of a v neck but these boxes are all about trying new things and we certainly received our money's worth this month!

Can't wait for June's box

Graze Review last week of April

This is a review for an awesome and inexpensive subscription called Graze.
You can opt to receive boxes every 2 weeks or every 4. Each box is $6. Inside you get 4 portion sized snacks. They are reinvented classics made from nuts, dehydrated fruits, candy chunks etc. On their website they list all of their creations and you can choose to "trash", "try", "like" or "love" based on your psst experience with trying them or if you know you do not like coconut or almonds, go through and trash anything that includes those ingredients and they will never send you any. If you love something or really want to try it then choose love. It's one of the first box subscriptions I have seen that really customizes their boxes based on your personal tastes. Very quick shipping as well.

We received:

We like trying 1 snack a night so by the end of this week I will know which ones will be either trashed, liked or loved and will update this.

Graze rocks!  We get as many boxes as possible.

If you want to try Graze out, you will receive your 1st and 5th box for free thru my referral link below.

Silly Rhino April Review

This is a review for a children's monthly subscription box called Silly Rhino.
They are on the high end of kids boxes and after an awful experience with Bluum, I decided the extra money would be worth it to get Logan a nice and useful sub.

The cost:

Okay so not a $20 a month kind of thing. Even more expensive than Citrus Lane's $29/month.  But after reading hundreds of amazing reviews I decided to give them a try, telling myself that if they were anything less than spectacular I would cancel immediately.

Opening April's box:

We Received:

Individual Items:

 Rolling Raindrop by Wonderland
Rolling toy that will help children develop hand eye coordination and gross motor skills. Can use as clutching toy and rattle but when they are older they will have fun manipulating balls to drop through the holes in the middle. Manufactured in Thailand out of Rubber wood trees with non toxic paint. Very cool, my son will definitely enjoy this.  Even my husband and I were amused playing with it.
Value: $12.

Giraffe Plush Lovey by Douglas
Okay this is probably the softest thing ever and so thick and well made. We couldn't believe there was a giraffe in the box as I am obsessed with them. I even lightly centered my wedding around a giraffe theme and had a giraffe print cake. (It was done in tiers and shiny metallic gold and white and was super elegant. )
 Value: $14

Here's a picture of JUST my mantle (not even the rest of my house) to give you an idea....

 Indestructible Book
Water proof, tear resistant, and baby durable. You can even pop it in the dishwasher! I didn't know such a thing existed.
Value: $5

Closet Dividers by Sugarbooger
Super cute and usable. Made from what I think may be melamine.  You can organize your kids clothes by size, type or day of the week.
Value: $12

Total Value: $43

I never really count each items value because if it were that important to me to budget and get a crazy deal I wouldn't be buying monthly extras that are unnecessary (but fun and enjoyable) like sub boxes.

If Logan likes the stuff and if I find the items useful then my monthly splurge was worth it. Obviously Silly Rhino puts a lot of thought and love into each item in their boxes.

Unfortunately I will only be having one more box with Silly Rhino (May's box) due to financial reasons. But you can bet when things settle down around here hopefully in another few months I will be signing back up with them. They are lovely and if you can afford it for your child, I strongly recommend Silly Rhino.

Citrus Lane April Review

Citrus Lane is a monthly box subscription with products specifically chosen for your child based on their age and gender. They usually include 4-5 items, 1-2 are full sized and the other items are samples.
There are different plans you can pick from:

We chose to go with the monthly just in case we ended up not impressed or needed to cancel for any other reason.

March's box was fabulous so I had high expectations for the month of April. Needless to say I ended up LOVING this box. Even better than last month.

Fruit and Veggie Teether by Under the Nile
Made from 100% organic cotton.  My favorite thing in the whole box. So cute and unique omg.
 First Keys from Green Toys
Made from recycled milk jugs! Awesome, I will give Logan's old cheap plastic ones to my rabbits :)
 On the Go from Zuli
So cool. OK these containers all are air tight and stack together and you can put your child's snacks in them all portioned out or up to 5 scoops of formula in one section and the tip section has a spout so you can even put juice in that!  Great for diaper bag or even rationing out snacks for baby sitter or your self for your baby's day.
Lemon Verbena Dish Soap, trial size 2 oz
I can do without this but I still appreciate and will use it.

Overall with Amazon price comparison, this box was slightly over $30 value not including my add ons. Not too much of a value over the actual price of the subscription but I am not buying it to save money or get a crazy deal. It's nice to get a good deal but I just want my son to have a special box each month. It's extra. Extra money,  not a necessity, just items I wouldn't think to buy him. A lot of people forget this when they order their boxes.

Overall I love citrus lane. I think they are wonderful. I am very happy so far and we will use every single item this month :)

Love With Food April Review

Love With Food helps you discover new organic, all-natural snacks delivered to your door every month. The subscription membership starts as low as $10/month. Every month, Love With Food members will receive a curated box of unique, hard-to-find tasty snacks which varies based on seasonal themes.
For every box sold, they donate a meal to several food banks such as the Feeding America Network and Share Our Strength - No Kid Hungry.

There are 2 different box sizes:
My husband and I are huge foodies. We love trying out new things and this subscription is really cool with how it is charitable.  We get to help someone else while learning about new snacks. Definitely a win-win. We chose to go with the Deluxe Box. More snacks and more donated.

This month’s theme was Flower Power.

Firstly, I can't believe how much they crammed into this box!!!! Jack pot this month.

Information sheet detailing what the food is all about.

Extra Virgin Coconut Oil by Kelapo:
Add it to a smoothir, spread it on toast, or use it in recipes as a butter replacement.

Creamed Honey with Chocolate Mint by Vintage Bee

Almonds With Cranberries, Honey and Sea Salt by Sahale Snacks

Heart-Tee by Wild Hibiscus Flower Co:
Tangy deep red floral tea, rumored to reduce anxiety and stress

 Honey Waffle by Meli
Belgium waffles with creamy honey sandwiched between two of them

Fiordifrutta Organic Fruit Spread by Rigonidi Asiago

 Organic Energy Bar by BumbleBar

Sea Salt Pomegranate Chips by Simply 7 Snacks

 Popcorn by Crave Canyon

Orchard Blend by Sensible Foods:
Crunch dried apples, pears, peaches  and apricots

I haven't tried anything yet, waiting for hubby to get home but our box was huge this month. Anywhere from 2-4 of each item. I am thrilled!!  Plus we donated a meal to 4 people this month by purchasing the $20 deluxe box.
