This is a review for Birchbox Man. For $20 a month Birchbox Man will send you a package containing 1 full size "lifestyle" item and a few little sample items. They have you initially fill out a detailed profile expressing your likes and dislikes as well as your age and stuff to help them determine the types of products to include in your box. Each month the box will have a different theme. This month's theme was Mix and Match.
I got my husband a subscription to Birchbox Man as a surprise and he acted like it was no big deal but I could tell he was excited to receive it. Very quick ship
We received the ugliest socks in existence, a small but good smelling trial of an expensive cologne, an anti aging face moisturizer (we are 26 years old lol) a little trial tube of shaving cream and an opened and half dried out trial of a 3 in 1 shampoo.
Okay so all the products DO smell really good.. If those socks were not there and if the shampoo hadn't leaked everywhere I probably would have been less bummed. We both decided we love the English Laundry and may purchase the full size stuff for a special occasion.
I emailed Birchbox regarding the shampoo in particular with hopes they could send us a replacement. They replied about 4 hours later and apologized but said they were all out of that particular sample so they added 100 points to our account to spend in their shop which is equivalent to $10. For every time you review a monthly sample it gets you 10 points, every dollar you spend gets you 10 points and for every friend referral you get 50 points. Their store is stocked with full size products and if you spend $50/+ you get free shipping and if you buy the full size of any of that particular months samples shipping is free. We will probably use the 100 points toward shampoo or shaving cream and spend very little out of pocket.
